Old Post Ressurection: My Love for Tango

First posted on May 3rd of this year and now it is part of the Old-Post Resurrection Hop with Sandra Tyler

I always feel intrigued by Tango’s movement and its music. Somehow the music sounds so defying. The female’s facial expression is so supercilious. The whole dance is so elegant! –And I started to fall in love…

My love for Tango wasn’t quite there until recently when I and hubby started to take private lessons from my Salsa dance’s teacher. Step by step she took us into her arms and led us into the dance floor. Baby steps were made until some movements were memorized and learned. Then all of the sudden the surge of excitement arose from my heart to my body. As the music flows… It takes my body with it and starts to move eloquently. As if it couldn’t resist the temptation that generated by Tango’s music. As if the Tango has its magnetic pulls that I can not resist. Without a choice, I submit wholeheartedly –And I started to fall in love helplessly…

Each time, when my hubby took my hands and gently led me into the dance floor. He would take charge and took me to wherever directions he wanted me to be. I would follow obediently as of this body has its own mind. I can no longer control it. If my mind decided to go against, the whole movement halted awkwardly and the music would abandon us and move on. But I won’t and nor could I. I felt like my whole feeling and body have been trapped inside a web, a Tango web and I can no longer escape. –And I started to fall in love deeper …

Little did I know that Tango dance has taught this free spirit of mine how to follow a lead and go where my loved one wants me to. I am always a freethinker person and go wherever I want to go and do whatever I want to do. Hardly anyone could stop me … Hardly anyone could prevent me until I met Tango dance where I would powerlessly surrender without any fight. This kind of feeling is so foreign to me yet familiar. It reminded me when I first fell in love with hubby. Couldn’t stay away from him, wanting to see and hear his voices. Wanting to be with him every seconds of my life. –And my love for Tango has gone deeper than one could imagine …

A lot of time in our lives, we find ourselves finding someone or something that we love and no matter how hard we try to stay away, we just can't. The love grows stronger each time and before we know it the love has taken controlled over us. Being in love is such a great feeling to have and sometimes it seems so unreal and hard to describe in words.  "We all want to fall in love. Why? Because that experience makes us feel completely alive. Where every sense is heightened, every emotion is magnified, our everyday reality is shattered and we are flying into the heavens. It may only last a moment, and hour, an afternoon. But that doesn't diminish its value. Because we are left with memories that we treasure for the rest of our lives." – This is exactly how I am feeling at this moment ...

This part of my journey with Tango has sparked a new excitement in my life that I feel like I am falling in love all over again. As you walk back into your own journey of life …I hope you would find yourself falling in love all over again and this time with something or that very someone in your life that may ignite your heart all over again ...

A Relationship Knot …

Months ago, we went to see an exhibit of Britain in Victorian days and at one of the stop, my girls were shown on how to tie a knot on a rope. There are many ways to tie a knot. Some ways turn out to be beautiful and some-- practical. Some knots can be sturdy and some can be loose --depending on how we tie them.

Properties of care2.com
Just like the knot that we tie on a rope, in a relationship, we often end up tying a knot together by walking down the aisle. If we look back and think how we tie our knot have everything to do with how we may end up today. Some knots were tied in such a rush and over time, they get looser and looser. Some knots were tied in such caution and they last-for some time, perhaps forever at the least until their last breaths. Just like the rope, some relationships that were tied without much given time, eventually will come loose. But, that doesn’t mean that they can’t be fixed. All it take are constant check points and perhaps time to tighten them or perhaps re-tying them.

Even those ropes that were tied strongly and perhaps with much needed time, if they are not taken care of, would eventually dried up and perhaps break apart when time come. Just like in a relationship, those knots that we tied strong, still need constant care and perhaps re-check point to ensure that we can withstand whatever come to our ways.Only then, 'till death do us apart will truly stand.

I hope you enjoy this little piece of my writing-- visiting the relationship knot.

Sealed with a kiss …

Sitting here on the bed,  I looked at him from the back, his back always gives me the feeling of comfort—shields me from all the trouble. He was too busy to notice me --trying to get the fire started for the fireplace in our room –at Sonoma Coast Villa and Spa. The heat from the fireplace started to warm up as if trying to catch up with my heart –He and the fire place both have given me the warm and fuzzy feeling.

That was the last night we were at the villa. The villa is tucked within the hill at Bodega, very tranquil setting in a sixty acre land which provides horse-back riding, golfing, meadow and the wilderness. The place is big enough to house a crowd but small enough to feel like it belongs to only two of us. The smell of the air is so fresh and flowery—gave us the much needed relaxation. And our room, the room is very cozy with the king size bed and a sitting area with two arm chairs facing the fireplace. A table with two seats facing the garden that filled with green and colorful flowers.

We started our morning with a breakfast then strolled around the property taking mental pictures of the surrounding before we traveled to Bodega Bay, Santa Rosa and Sausalito  where we had marvelous time dining at the local restaurant, The Fish. The garlicky pasta with salmon, barbeque oysters, white clam chowder and crab roll were exquisite. –every bite was as delicious as they look. Then we spent some time leisurely walking along the shops and the bay.

As his hands clasped tight with mine –my mind traveled back in time—back in college years when he first took my hands. Little did I knew he would hold my hands and led me into the wedding aisle.

Many years have passed and as we celebrate each anniversary, he would always seal it with a kiss. In fact, that was how it all started, with a simple, innocent, first kiss on the Haunted House ride in the Disney land –a kiss that lasts a lifetime. He started it that way and he would always end our anniversary celebration –sealed with a kiss.

A kiss that has traveled thru time and would be resealed in each anniversary...

Sealed With A Kiss
Author Rachel

The soft summer breeze
Whispers in our ears
The weakness hit our knees
As that special moments nears

The closer you come
The tighter you hold me
My body becomes numb
Like it was always meant to be

As you come near
There’s a smile on my face
I know there is nothing to fear
When my heart begins to race

The sounds become unheard
A feeling I’ve had never
You say that special word
That lasts in my heart forever

Our breathe slows down
We’re now face to face
Our love is renown
As our lips willingly embrace

Thank you for journeying with me on this special day...

My unusual date

Last Wednesday, I skipped the usual Toastmaster meetings, instead I went on a date. Not the usual dates that I have with hubby where I would first visit a salon for hairdo and dressed in black. Instead, I was in Jeans (not even in my usual working dress code.)  We drove in one car that day and later that afternoon, he picked me up from work and off we went. Not to any restaurant, in fact, I had hot dog for a meal with garlic fries and lemonade. –Unusual for a date huh? Not when we bought it from the Stadium. That's it! He took me on a date to watch his favorite team, Lakers!

Speaking of Lakers, my hubby is always a fan of Lakers for as long as I can remember. He himself is a basketball player since middle school. I remember the time when he would come by and woke my brother up for early morning practices. –We are talking about 5:00 am in the morning and his voice would echo thru our house and ultimately woke the whole family up.  That how excited he was!

As the game started, we couldn’t take eyes off the players. The beginning was quite intense then it slowly fade away as my hubby said, both players were not equally balance. Lakers was no doubt a bit ahead of the game since the other team had four of their strong players were out for different reasons, partially because of the injury. It was a bit bummer to see Kobe Bryant was not on the game as he got injured just a week before the game. I guess we were lucked out that night but still given our seats were only 20 feet away, we could see the players pretty clearly. That was a plus.  In fact let me give you the glimpse of the games …

I have to digress here for a bit. Um ...Aside for being so left out in the sport world for years now,  for the whole night, I was thinking about “Nachos!” I saw someone eating Nachos and I wanted them but my tummy was so full. So I couldn’t eat more but my mouth and mind kept on convincing me. So, it was quite a distraction to the games., I say!

Fine. Back to the game! The sound of the fan was echoed in my ears but somehow my mind went off tangent and arrived at my college years, where my hubby took me on the first date. As you can guess by now, it was the basketball court, his favorite place. He decided to share it with me. It was definitely our fond memories. Every time, when we had some moments, we would visit the court and played one-on-one game.

Time had definitely passed and it has been years that I haven’t touched the basketball instead we are now into golf which we are not quite there yet … Someday, we would have our dates again but this time it would be in the golf course! --And I didn't buy the Nachos BTW.!

I hope you enjoy a peek into my date night with me as much as I enjoyed the nite. Now it is your turn to tell me about your unusual date(s) ...

Bud of romance ...

A friend of mine made a special request for me to write a blog about "where love begins ..." I scratched my head, thinking where do I begin? :-) When does love begin?  And the search was on for the answer, past the thorn thickets, the malicious dragon with breath of flame, into the stone castle, and finally to the spark of true love. It is quite magical, just like in Sleeping Beauty. After all my research, here I am trying to write away my thoughts…

Okay, let me tell you this: It has nothing to do with cupids! The whole myth of arching love arrows shooting through the air and love at first sight isn't exactly the way it works. In fact, I think I am going to like my analogy on this :-) Love and food are somewhat similar.Yay! (I mean, who doesn't like food?)

--courtesy of micheleshaw.blogspot.com

If you are a food lover, it all starts with the looks, smells, and then the tastes. Yes? The presentation has to be good, and then it has to smell enticing to us (it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t smell scrumptious to the world, as long as it smells perfect to us!) Finally, when we put it in our mouth, it has to taste good (again, it won’t matter if it tastes horrible to our neighbors or friends … as long as it tastes good to us.)

Ah … You think love is so much different? Think again! According to scientists, it all begins with the looks, yes! You spot him from far away, and he looks just perfect. Wait-- how about the smells?  Yes! He has to smell right to us . For us women, we carry certain odors during our menstrual cycles, and men have certain smells that attract us.

Now, let's just say that both the looks and the smells are just right … -Hmm I can feel the love brewing in the air already! Time to taste it! How? Yes .. yes you got it! The kiss! “When you kiss, a cluster of genes called MHC are exchanged in the mouth through saliva. That kiss could potentially determine whether a couple's genes are compatible enough to produce a healthy offspring.” –according to Jeffrey Kluger, the science editor at Time magazine.

Just like the new food lovers that have finally found their new love (food, obviously). Our love has blossomed as well, the buds of romance...

Happy Friday, folks or should I say happy loving?
