The land of Michelangelo ...

Our day began with a visit to one of the infamous Italian symbols, Pisa . We had free time to admire the gorgeous Cathedral, the Baptistery, the monumental Cemetery and to take scenic pictures of the fame Leaning Tower. It was like a dream come true ... heard about it ... finally with my every own eyes. Simply magnificent!

We then continued our tour to a well known wine estate at the foot of San Gimignano, where the lunch was a typical Florentine products “crostini, salumi, formaggi, lasagne…”, it came complete with a wine tasting. It wasn't a simple wine tasting, but a real “wine tasting class”, in which, the secrets of wine tasting was revealed. --So they said :-) The tasting was based on eight different wines and on vin santo accompanied with cantuccini (typical Tuscan buiscuits) and grappa.

After lunch we went to the most wonderful Medieval hilltop village in Italy, San Gimignano. Here, we were free to roam around the town. We walked on its cobbled streets that full with mazes, the small squares and many shops of local artisans and farm products. Our visit wouldn't be complete without a stopover at one of the best Gelato shop. Oh my ... it was de-li-ci-ous. It was definitely worth every bite! 



Our exciting day continued with a view of the true Chianti countryside and one of the most enchanting lands in the world with a patchwork of different panoramas scattered with hilltop hamlets, little churches and castles before arriving to Siena.

In Siena we met our guide and we started our promenade around the most important squares to the Cathedral, where we visited its interior. At the end of the visit, we had time to enjoy a coffee and did some shopping at typical local shops. The trip that day ended with a sunset. As if it was calling us, time to go back to Florence.  

Next day, our tour started by discovering the city from a panoramic point of view that is considered one of the most beautiful and romantic square in the World: the Piazzale Michelangelo. From there, we could see a complete view on the city and on the green landscape around it. The tour resumed going down into the heart of Florence to the Galleria dell’Accademia, where it was possible to admire the original version of David by Michelangelo, the unfinished "I Prigioni", “San Matteo”, “Pietà di Palestrina” and other masterpieces.

The tour proceed through the historical streets of Florence, and led us in front of the Duomo where the guide explained from the outside Giotto’s bell tower, the Baptistery with its golden bronze doors including the famous Porta del Paradiso and, lastly, the Cathedral

Last but not the least, the shopping trip! What a fun-filling trip after my desire was met at Prada, Fendi and Gucci.
